Website and browser storage

Steppes does not set cookies or use advertising or analytics tracking. The browser uses local storage to remember authentication, the selected workspace and dismissed interface tips. Authentication and workspace selection are cleared on logout; dismissed-tip preferences remain on the device unless browser storage is cleared.

Data collected and purposes

Steppes processes the name, work email, firm or network, role, firm type, company, sector, desired expert profile, interview focus and optional message submitted through request forms to review and respond to the request. Required fields are marked with an asterisk; without them, the request cannot be submitted.

Steppes processes submitted company and deal information, authorized files, instructions and generated outputs to provide research, generation, editing, saving and export functions. Limited technical request data is processed to secure, diagnose and operate the service.

Legal bases

Processing is based on steps requested before entering a contract or performance of a contract, and on legitimate interests in responding to professional enquiries and operating, securing and supporting the service.

Service providers and international transfers

Hosting, email-delivery, document-processing and AI-infrastructure providers receive data only where necessary to provide the service. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses are used. Steppes does not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Retention

Request information is retained while the request is reviewed and for reasonable follow-up, then deleted unless an ongoing relationship or legal obligation requires longer retention. Saved workspaces are retained according to the applicable workspace settings and users can delete saved projects. Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, or object to processing. Contact privacy@steppes.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or your local supervisory authority. Access and partnership requests are not decided solely by automated processing.
